The Small Crown Sub that punches above…
The no-crown-guards Submariner is one of the most desirable of the iconic Rolex dive watches and are still a good buy in the current market. The so-called small-crown watches feature 6mm crowns on cases without the shoulders on either side of the crown like on later references.
This is a really stunning example with original gilt dial, with its full gloss finish, lume plots intact and deep copper colour gilt text. The case remains in beautiful condition with evidence of the original factory lines. The insert is a rich black hue and is fitted to a later service bezel ring.
The watch is accompanied by its original coffin box, hand-written guarantee papers, Submariner card inset and a paper for Sydney Stores, from where the watch was originally purchased we believe. The rivet bracelet is a reference 7206 and is in really great condition and has ref 58 endlinks and clasp stamped ‘1 60’. The watch has been fully serviced by the watchmaker of Bulang and Sons.
